Ferroelectric water splitting in the news

April 16, 2016

Arvin’s talk and paper on using ferroelectric surfaces to split water got some media attention.  The APS asked him to give a short presentation about his work to reporters, and ScienceNews wrote an article about it.

The APS talk is:  A. Kakekhani and S. Ismail-Beigi. Hydrogen production by thermal water splitting using ferroelectric PbTiO3. American Physical Society meeting, Baltimore, March 18, 2016.

The paper is A. Kakekhani and S. Ismail-Beigi. Ferroelectric oxide surface chemistry: Water splitting via pyroelectricity. Journal of Materials Chemistry A 4, 5235 (2016). DOI 10.1039/C6TA00513F.
